Is mindful of the psychological health and safety of our employee care partners.Qualifications:· Grade 12 Diploma or recognized equivalent is required.· Experience and/or training in recreational services preferred.Responsibilities:As a member of our Care Partner Team, your role will include: · Provides care in a manner that demonstrates the principles of appropriate choice, dignity, privacy, independence, and individuality in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values.· Provides leadership to the team to ensure they understand and are committed to achieving person directed services.· Supports the Resident’s lifestyle in their Community environment in accordance with the Resident’s individualized Care Plan as authorized by Homecare.· Ensures the performance of recreational services as specified in the Care/Service Plan.· Facilitating and encouraging Resident advocacy.· Using the available resources, the Recreation Aide is responsible for providing and evaluating the delivery of recreational services based on the Resident Care Plan & Service Plan.· Reports necessary changes regarding the Resident Care/Service Plan as per request of the Resident as it relates to recreational services.· Assist with identifying and addressing unmet needs within the Community.· Supports the residents in identifying personal leisure barriers.· Report and apply the concern resolution process in a timely manner as required.· Follows and enforces the Emergency Management Plan, Infection Control protocol, WHMIS, and Health & Safety Wellness Strategies.· Assisting with daily life within the Community, as needed, in a variety of ways beyond recreation-specific practices, such as serving meals, doing light housekeeping, removing trash, assisting Residents, and leading Learning Circles.· Participates in the development of Well-Being Strategies.· Orientate and foster the development of care partners and facilitate the development of individual and team skills.· Attend and actively participate on various committees/meetings providing advice/ input.· Liaison with Care Team (i.e. Resident, Family- if applicable, Home Care Nurse, Doctor, Pharmacy, Care Partners, and other health care professionals) as required.· Audit and identify any health, safety or maintenance issues, and reports/documents as required.· Exhibits excellent customer (hospitality) relations by being courteous, caring, understanding, compassionate and respectful to all Care Partners.· Promotes and encourages an atmosphere of excellent hospitality service within the Community.· Maintains a high level of professionalism at all times.· Participates in projects and quality improvement initiatives.· Ensure cleanliness within the Community by keeping living and service areas clean, orderly and presentable at all times.· Willingness to maintain self-wellness and reduced absenteeism within the team.· Address unscheduled Housing/Service Plan needs as required based on Well-Being Strategies.· Maintain appropriate levels of certification.· Maintain confidentiality of the Community including but not limited to accountability of all care partners. Breach of confidentiality is serious and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.· Performs other services/tasks/duties related to employee care partner role as assigned.Employment is conditional upon providing satisfactory proof that a candidate is fully immunized against COVID-19.
