We’re a place where you just might be a perfect fit.Our Team:The recreation facility provides clean, safe multi-purpose spaces for a variety of leisure/recreation/wellness services, opportunities, programs, skill development, events and activities that enhance the quality of life for residents in and around the City of Airdrie.Fitness and Leisure provides the planning and delivery of Recreation Programs to meet the demands of the public and provide the public with a variety of opportunities to constructively use their leisure time in.The Opportunity:

  • Plan and implement a variety of activities including arts and crafts, dance, games, sports, and music
  • Create, deliver and lead quality preschool and children’s programs, parented programs, day camps and birthday parties for children 3 – 12 years of age
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to volunteers
  • Ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for the children
  • Lesson planning
  • Room set up and clean up
  • Uphold rules and guidelines within the facility
  • Provide customer service to parents, children and public
You Bring:
  • Preferred applicants will be a minimum of 16 years of age
  • Previous experience working with children is a necessity
  • Prior experience as a Leader, or volunteering at Genesis Place would be an asset
  • Current Standard First Aid - Level C CPR and AED Certification (provide copy of certification with application)
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have past experience with assisting and/or leading day camps and programs as a Recreation Leader
  • Demonstrated leadership and recreation experience preferred
  • Ability to work with children and lead others
  • Motivated and enthusiastic disposition
  • Ability to plan and organize
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing situations
  • Mature and reliable
  • Ability to work independently with minimal instruction
