We’re a place where you just might be a perfect fit.Our Team:To provide five safe, quality indoor ice surfaces to Airdrie citizens, for the purposes of recreation, wellness, and local organized sport.The Opportunity:We are looking to fill three (3) positions for the Seasonal Arena Operators until May of 2022.This is a part-time (primarily evenings and weekends), Arena Operator position reporting to the Operations Coordinator. This job posting is open to experienced as well as entry level Operators. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of arena operations.

  • Ensure assigned duties and customer service is attended to in an efficient manner
  • Promote positive relationships with staff and customers
  • Play a lead role in emergency situations, as the first point of contact with the public and emergency responders
  • Accountable for cleanliness of glass partitions, washrooms, dressing rooms, official’s rooms, player boxes, penalty boxes and public areas within the facility
  • Regular ice making with an electric ice resurfacer and power edger
  • Maintain written logs on a per-shift basis is required
You Bring:
  • Some experience working in an ice hockey environment, including working knowledge of ice making equipment, would be required
  • Current Standard First Aid Level C CPR and AED certification is required (provide copy with application)
  • A valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required
  • AARFP Arena Operator certification (level 1 and/or 2) would be an asset (provide copy with application)
  • Working knowledge of ice making equipment
  • A keen awareness for working safely
  • Ability to communicate effectively and offer excellent customer service to visitors and staff

Arena Operators will be expected to commit to a minimum of one evening shift and one weekend every two weeks.Candidates must be able to perform physically demanding tasks and will regularly be required to lift, bend and kneel.
