Support substitutes are called to work on an as needed basis, at any of our schools. There are a variety of positions available based on experience and qualifications such as: Learning Assistant.You must be available to work in at least one main area (Airdrie/Crossfield, Chestermere/Langdon or Cochrane/Springbank) throughout the 2021-2022 school year, be available a minimum of 8 instructional days per month, be accessible by telephone and internet, and provide your own transportation. All candidates must be available for an interview.Successful candidates will posses:Positive referencesOutstanding interpersonal and verbal/written communication skillsExcellent problem solving and critical thinking skillsAbility to keep up-to-date with changing technologyDemonstrated ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with a team of educational professionalsUnderstanding of and commitment to supporting learning initiativesAbility to work with other staff members to create a positive, safe, and optimal learning environmentCapacity to establish a rapport with studentsAbility to provide assistance to students as identified in their individualized programming plans (IPP) including those that require additional supports (i.e. personal care, toileting and feeding) as a Learning AssistantEducation/Experience:Education Assistant Certificate or enrolled/willing to enroll in an education assistant programTraining in preventative/de-escalating behaviour course or willingness to become certifiedTraining or experience working with students with extreme and complex behavioral and emotional needs in an educational settingThe successful candidate must submit a current Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of your employment.Open to: Internal and External applicantsHow to Apply:We request all applications be placed through http://rockyview.simplication.com/.
