Job Description

We are looking for experienced or aspiring Sushi Chefs to join our culinary team to prepare delicious plates for our customers. We will provide training to motivated individuals who want to establish a career in the arts of Japanese cuisine.Sushi Chef Responsibilities include handling a wide range of raw fish and other ingredients, managing food stock and working with attention to detail to fulfill all orders in a timely fashion and to ensure that all order meet the standards of the restaurant. To be successful in this role, you must be able to work well under pressure and maintain restaurant standards.Ultimately, you will help us maintain our reputation as one of the best sushi restaurants in the area and provide our customers with the best experience possible.RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare all types of sushi, including maki, nigiri and sashimi.
  • Prepare fresh fruits and vegetables to make high-quality dishes.
  • Add additional flavours to sushi rolls with sauces and garnish when appropriate.
  • Acts to consistently always maintain a clean and well-organized kitchen.
  • Develops, maintains and enhances positive relations with all customers and team members.
  • Reports to work as scheduled, on time, and ready to work.
APPLICANTS MUST POSSESS:
  • Minimum 3 years of kitchen experience
  • Knowledge of traditional Japanese techniques and flavour profiles or a desire to learn
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Intense focus on excellence
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, late nights, weekends, and public holidays
