Working collaboratively with the Cloud Infra Solution Analyst, the Systems Administrator focuses on the routine maintenance and support delivery for our customers. This individual will also be responsible for the development of processes and their documentation in support cases.The Systems Administrator, DC Cloud and Infrastructure is the initial contact point into the DC Cloud and Infrastructure Team. They own accountability in maintaining our services to the highest security and operational standards. They are also responsible for ensuring SLA times are met.Service Areas:

  • VMware Cloud Suite
  • Commvault Backup
  • Enterprise Infrastructure
What you will bring:
  • Post-Secondary education with a focused track in Computer Science, Computer Technology or relevant Work Experience
  • 4+ years working in Enterprise environments providing infrastructure support for common Enterprise services
    • Working knowledge of SMTP, POP, IMAP technologies
    • Working knowledge of DNS configuration, zone creation, DNS structure
    • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix based operating systems
    • Working knowledge of Windows Operating System primarily supporting Windows Server 2008/2012/2016.
    • Working knowledge of Enterprise Authentication environments including Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP and RADIUS based systems
  • 2+ years supporting a Virtualized infrastructure preferably utilizing the VMware Suite of Cloud Products including the following
    • VMware Virtual Center
    • VMware Director
    • VMware vROPs
    • VMware LogInsight
    • VMware ESXi
  • 2+ year Backup Technology support. Commvault preferred
  • Teamplayer
  • Strong communication both spoken and written
  • Strong time management
  • Ability to work constructively on multiple tasks at once
Certifications:
  • VMware 6.7 VCP Certification or above is preferred
  • Commvault 10 Professional Certification or above is preferred
What youll be doing:
  • Support the Help Desk and Service Desk through customer incidents
  • Serve as request entry point for Customer and Internal requests (Work Orders, Tickets)
  • Develop and document processes and procedures around the delivery of services and ongoing maintenance of our services
  • Provide weekly status of ongoing activities to the Senior Manager, Data Centre Cloud and Infrastructure Services manager
  • Provide open and honest feedback
  • Monitor Ticket Queues to ensure agreed upon SLAs are met
  • Assist with the delivery of team project tasks.
  • Provide accurate delivery times for assigned tasks.
  • Identify improvements to customer delivery and support activities
  • Follow established ISMS published Guidelines
Ownership:Systems Administrator, Cloud and Infrastructure services have direct ownership to the following items
  • Tickets that are assigned to the individual
  • Project tasks assigned to the individual
  • Requested tasks from Management Team
  • Effective Troubleshooting of team services
  • Monitor Ticket Queues to ensure SLAs are met
Expectations around Ownership
  • You manage your own time efficiently
  • Tickets are handled in a timely and professional manner. Updates are to be provided at regular intervals or in the case of escalated issues at pre-determined SLA or documented response times
  • Any risk to agreed upon timelines are communicated to management or relevant project manager
  • In the case of risk to agreed upon timelines provide recommendations so tasks can be prioritized by the Senior Manager, Data Centre Cloud and Infrastructure Services
  • Documentation for team services is kept up to date. Particularly around processes, procedures, inventory and collection of audit information
  • You identify risks and report them to the Risk Group so they can be prioritized and documented
  • You consider other teams in the decisions you make. Expectation is that if you make changes affecting another area you are performing a consultation with them before proposing those changes
  • You are looking for ways to improve the overall supportability and operability of our services
