As a member of the Systems & Networks Technology for Learning department, the Technical Support Analyst will provide direct support for hardware, operating systems, network and software used in instructional and administrative applications. The successful candidate will hold a valid Alberta Class 5 Motor Vehicle Operators License and own transportation in order to provide services to all RVS locations, as some travel may be required.Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain LAN and WAN technologies
• Provide support for Data Centre operations
• Ensure adequate resource availability to users
• Assist and recommend changes to configuration of hardware to improve connectivity
• Assist in the implementation of a diverse catalogue of emerging technologies

Education/Experience

• Computer Science degree or equivalent
• Minimum four years experience in an Active Directory Environment
• Experience with Office 365
• Experience with Cisco, VMWare, NetApp systems
• Working knowledge of Linux Operating Systems
• Five years or more progressive experience with operation, administering and developing and/or implementing software and systems within a complex computing environment
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Technologies
• Working knowledge of Server Virtualization Technologies
• Demonstrated knowledge of network protocols, wide area networking principles, virtual private networks
• Familiarity with network management tools
• Sound understanding of technology role in education
• Working knowledge of Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases
• Strong interpersonal skills and expert project management skills
