Temporary Learning Specialist - AssessmentEducation CentreRocky View Schools (RVS) serves the educational needs of over 25,000 students within 54 diverse schools. As the fifth largest school jurisdiction in Alberta, RVS balances the development of learner competencies with an ongoing emphasis on literacy and numeracy. In RVS, the best interest of students is at the center of every decision.RVS invites applications for one temporary, full-time (1.0 FTE) Learning Specialist - Assessment position starting August 31, 2021 until June 30, 2022. The successful candidate will be working under the direction of the Director of Instructional Leadership.

RVS seeks an individual who possesses a superior understanding of effective assessment practices including outcomes based assessment. The successful candidate will have experience with outcomes based reporting at multiple levels; specifically high school. The ideal candidate will have recent classroom experience, and embrace working collaboratively in a team environment.Responsibilities for this position include:Supporting the implementation of outcomes based assessment in RVSSupporting schools to align with RVS assessment philosophy and proceduresWorking flexibly and adaptively, as part of a team to align literacy, numeracy and instructional design practices in the area of assessmentSupport leaders and teachers to implement most effective and sustainable assessment practices within instructional designWorking extensively in designated schools through small group professional learning, in-class demonstration, coaching and mentoring and supporting school playbook/workbook developmentPlanning and leading professional learning sessions as requiredStrong understanding of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment is requiredFamiliarity with RVS assessment and reporting platforms including myBlueprint portfolios is preferredThe successful candidate must possess, or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate and an original TQS to Human Resources commencing employment with RVS.The successful candidate must submit a current Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of employment.Please attach your resume and cover letter, quoting job code #3023596 on or before 4:30 pm on May 14, 2021.
