This position will start immediately to June 29, 2023. As a member of the Learning Supports department, the Family School Liaison Worker works as part of a multidisciplinary team to enhance service delivery by helping families set goals, integrate interventions, plan strategies and arrange resources to help children be successful in school, home and their community. The successful candidates will have a valid Alberta Class 5 Motor Vehicle Operators License and own transportation as services are provided mainly in the family home or in a community setting.Responsibilities IncludeConducts needs assessments to identify social, emotional, behavioural and academic requirements of the child and familyDevelops treatment goals and case management strategiesWorks closely with school based and divisional team to determine plans and supports needed for the student and familyMaintains proper documentation of services provided to students and their families and completes a closing report with goals, interventions and outcomesProvides supports directly in classrooms working closely with the classroom teacher to implement plans and inclusive practicesProvides short-term counselling support for families dealing with a number of issues including but not limited to: parent/child conflict, behavioural difficulties, violence and substance abuseAssists the student and their family to address issues that impact the students social/emotional/behavioural/academic progress by providing direct servicesLiaises between the family, school, community and other professional groups and service providers in order to strengthen the families capacity to function autonomouslyAdvocates for the family and supports the development of a network of resources to provide ongoing assistance as requiredEducation/ExperienceDegree or diploma in Social Science or Human ServicesMinimum of 2 years’ experience in social services or previous experience within an inter-agency working fieldProficient with Microsoft Office SuiteRocky View Schools Benefits6% vacation payFlex Benefits Plan (Extended health, Dental Benefits, Wellness/Health Care Spending Account(s), Tax Free Savings Account and Registered Retirement Savings PlanThis position dose not qualify for Sick Days or the Defined Benefit Pension PlanProfessional development and training opportunitiesFree parkingPre-Employment RequirementsThe successful candidate must submit a current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of your employmentProof of qualifications/education as required by the positionOpen to : Internal and external applicantsSalary: Starting hourly rate $30.34 - $36.86 per hourHow to ApplyWe request all applications be placed through http://rockyview.simplication.com/.
