At Swoop, our-day-to-day operations are vastly different and deliberately separate, but carefully aligned to complement the big-picture strategy of the WestJet Group.Reporting to the Director, Operations, the Advisor, Operations is a critical position to enable operational effectiveness and planning in conjunction with analysis and reporting. This role will employ strategic thinking and aviation acumen, blending project leadership and execution with strategic thinking and business analysis to support end-to-end delivery for projects across Operations.Major DutiesStrategy & Flight Operations

  • Establish, own, and continually assess a portfolio of strategic projects in the Operations team and ensure alignment with corporate strategic goals;
  • Develop dashboards to gather operational information and data sets in one centralized location;
  • Drive execution of Swoop Operation’s portfolio and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget;
  • Develop, maintain, and effectively execute plans for operational projects;
  • Participate in and ensure financial and strategic analyses of business opportunities are completed and adhered to throughout the life of the project, working closely with the Senior Advisor, Network and Business Planning;
  • Determine and schedule appropriate resources across operations and in other corporate functions to achieve project goals and deliverables, while balancing resource and cost constraints;
  • Plan and manage internal and external project communications, ensuring effective exchange of project information and status updates throughout all levels of the organization
  • Identify, analyze, prioritize, mitigate, and communicate project risks to all stakeholders;
  • Author and deliver high-impact presentations and plans for stakeholders including Executive team;
  • Develop complex financial and strategic analysis to support decisions on major strategic and tactical initiatives to effectively run the operation and manage costs;
  • Support the development and refinement of Swoop’s operational strategy;
  • Support other operational activities as required.
Business Planning
  • Monitor KPI performance, and develop, support, and effectively communicate market strategies to leadership team and teammates;
  • Work closely with the Commercial Group including Pricing and Revenue Management, Marketing, Sales and Distribution to jointly achieve network and revenue goals;
  • Work closely within the Operational Groups including Airports, Inflight, Maintenance and Regulatory to jointly achieve operational excellence;
  • Support Swoop team as needed up to and including CEO level with market information, data management and general problem solving under pressure of deadlines and shifting priorities.
Education/Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in analysis, strategic planning, and project coordination.
  • Undergraduate degree in business is an asset.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills using MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Visio.
  • Highly self-motivated and active within project teams; willing to go the extra mile to support the team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, demonstrated through effective meeting facilitation, business documentation, presentations, and active listening.
  • Clear and concise communicator, an effective presenter, and facilitator.
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects with tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct detailed financial and strategic analysis, drawing out implications and recommendations.
  • A track record of strong aviation acumen is an asset, with the ability to think about the big picture and what the long-term implications of major project decisions will be.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, demanding, and fluid environment.
