About the jobThe Red Hat Customer Content Services team is looking for a Product Security Technical Writer to join us. In this role, you will join a team that promotes customer loyalty and success through content development and delivery. You will work closely with Red Hat Product Security, creating content that helps protect customers and communities from digital security threats and provide quality information needed to mitigate risks and privacy concerns. The content you create will help guard our customers from security risks when using our software. Spanning the portfolio of Red Hat products and solutions, you will use a flexible approach in this fast-paced environment and adjust quickly to changing priorities. Drawing from your passion for technology - especially security - and the English language, youll work closely with engineers, analysts, and other subject matter experts to create content that enables customers to respond to events appropriately. Product Security content addresses vulnerabilities in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) solutions and supported applications, understanding risk within traditional datacenter, cloud, and container environments. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business.What you will do

• Work closely with Product Security and other stakeholders to create, publish, and maintain high-quality content
• Effectively manage content projects and deliver customer-focused content in a fast-paced environment
• Engage and collaborate with Product Security colleagues and stakeholders to ensure effective processes, verify content needs, and offer efficient solutions
• Keep up to date on industry-wide security technologies and trends, and how they apply to Red Hat
• Work easily and resourcefully with a variety of tools, 3rd party and internal, including Jira, Confluence, Bugzilla, web editors, Google Workspace
• Participate in frequent stand-ups to communicate status, set priorities, and remove impediments

What you will bring

• 3+ years of technical writing experience, or other demonstrated writing experience in a technical environment
• Bachelors degree in IT, computer science, or an arts or language field
• Experience in writing accurate, clear, and concise content for a range of technical audiences
• Comfortable with quick-turn around projects and changing priorities, as well as content pieces of variable lengths from sentences to lengthy pieces
• Familiarity with, and ideally a passion for, technology security
• Familiarity with Red Hats enterprise solutions portfolio
• Ability to actively engage subject matter experts and follow through on commitments
• Working knowledge of and experience with operating within a Linux environment using the command line
• Ability to read, write, research, and compile technical content, including feature descriptions, customer use cases, and release notes using industry best practices
• Experience collaborating and directly interacting with globally-distributed stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds
