Almost 50% of the salt manufactured at the plant is food-grade salt distributed for use in commercial food production and for table salt used in homes across Canada. In addition, the plant produces and packages salt for water conditioning, agriculture, fishery, deicing and even pool salt.How will you contribute to the teamBin Control/Compactor Operator- Responsible for all duties pertaining to the loading of bulk trucks and hopper cars- Responsible for all duties pertaining to the compacting, crushing and conveying of all salt products to various production lines.- Ensure the filling out of all job worksheets is complete for each shift.- Responsible for the taking of sample(s) where applicable.- Responsible for cleaning areas within the Bin Control area.- Responsible for magnet checks during morning salt inventories on loading days- Responsible for #2amp; #3 screen checks Sunday, Wednesdayamp; Friday- Responsible filling of YPSamp; SHMP tanksamp; filling out log books- Responsible for monthly cleaning of compaction system monthly- Responsible for taking bin inventory twice dailyVREP Operator- Operation of Vapour Recompression Evaporation Plant- Operation of Natural Gas Boiler- Operate other Auxiliary equipment (Pumps, Conveyors, Heat Exchangers, Dryers, etc.,)- Cleaning duties as required- Dust collection duties- Support Maintenance activity as required- Arrange for maintenance and call in as required- Must be able to work at heights and confined spaces.- Performing quality checks- Must be able to work in hot temperatures and climb steps as required- 12 hour Shift workQualificationsWhat should you bring to the role- The successful candidate will hold an inter-provincial 4th class power engineer #39;s license with the Nova Scotia Dept. of Labour and be required to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.- The ideal candidate will have experience in a process-related industry, be knowledgeable about process equipment and control systems, and be flexible to different task assignments.- Minimum 4th Class Power engineering certification- Safety certification and or courses- Experience with Microsoft Office programs: Word, ExcelWhat will you like about us- C* *ompensation and Benefits : We offer a competitive compensation package along with medical, dental, vision, disability, employee assistance program, tuition reimbursement, and much more.- Rest and Relaxation: Paid vacation, paid sick and personal floating days.- Prepare for your Future: Defined Contribution Pension Plan with company match and contribution.- Shared Core Values : Our employees share five Core Values in all we do: Integrity, Respect, Collaboration, Value Creation and High Performance.- Safety : We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive work environment as we strive toward Zero Harm for our employees, customers and communities.- Meaningful Work : What sets us apart is the work we do impacts daily lives - and every employee contributes.
