Job Description

We value focusing on the producer, innovation, teamwork and community, accountability to ourselves and others and leadership at all levels.Working from our Assiniboia Customer Service Office (CSO), this positions reports to the Field Supervisor and the CSO Manager, and is responsible for performing crop inspections on farms while working with customers.WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Perform crop inspections on farms.
  • Gather data necessary to determine indemnities for programs administered by Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation.
  • Carry out fieldwork with customers who have suffered a financial loss or where problem situations exist.
  • Ability to walk long distances to do plant counts and measure fields.
  • Ability to climb bins in order to accurately measure grain production.
  • Submit claims neatly, accurately and completely.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:To be successful in this position you will need a minimum of a Grade 12 education supplemented with many years of farming experience. You will also need a valid drivers license and a suitable vehicle to carry out responsibilities.
  • Detailed knowledge of farming practices and crops with the ability to identify crop disease, insect damage and other causes of loss.
  • Strong mathematical skills with the ability to complete manual calculations.
  • Knowledge of and experience with computers such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Clear, legible handwriting.
  • Good physical condition with the ability to walk long distances for field measurements and climb ladders and bins to measure grain.
  • Preference will be given to those applications with knowledge of Crop Insurance and AgriStability.

The successful candidate must present a work ethic supporting our corporate values and Saskatchewan agriculture, must provide an acceptable criminal record check and should the successful candidate participate in the Crop Insurance or AgriStability Programs, their account must be in good standing.
