Job Description

Position FULL TIME SUPERVISORDepartment BAKE-OFF/DELILocation Assiniboia Food StoreResponsibilities

  • Responsible for ordering, receiving and displaying of product.
  • Bake, decorate and wrap items. Display and price bake-off/deli products accurately and assist customers with small or large special orders.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties and ensure all areas of responsibility are safe, organized, and clean, including equipment and monitoring refrigeration temperature.
  • Update and train all existing and new team members on proper baking and deli recipes/standards, new items, and any available training programs from FCL, ensuring correct procedures are followed.
  • Ensure department image standards are maintained throughout and at the end of each day.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with local co-op standards and government food and sanitation health and safety standards.
  • Ensure all new team members are trained in safe operating procedures.
  • Ensure all applicable company policies and procedures are communicated and adhered to and ensure safety and regulatory requirements and procedures are implemented and maintained.
  • Work with Food Store Manager to become knowledgeable in the areas of inventory management.
  • Promote and ensure adherence to brand and merchandising standards, marketing efforts and image standards.
  • Participate in the leadership of the department, including performance management, training and development of team members.
  • Ensure prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service is provided at all times. Ensure all customer complaints, adjustments and returns are handled in a quick and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for the adherence and enforcement of Southland policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Supervisory experience is an asset.
  • Willingness to further knowledge through training.
  • Strong organizational, leadership and communication skills
  • Practical experience in bakery or deli is an asset.
  • Positive and professional attitude, strong interpersonal skills, outgoing and energetic personality.
  • Excellent customer service skills including a desire and ability to work with the public.
  • Able to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Physically able to do heavy lifting.
  • Successfully pass pre-employment testing as per Southland’s Alcohol & Substance Policy
