At Zenabis, our Alternate Master Grower executes the cultivation strategy developed by the Enterprise Master Grower. They will understand all aspects of cannabis cultivation including, cloning/planting, irrigation, nutrient management, plant maintenance, pest and pathogen controls and light cycles regulation for optimum plant growth and harvesting. Their key role is to ensure that the Cultivation Strategy is implemented site wide. Additional duties include management of Cultivation teams.Core CompetenciesAdvanced knowledge of Cannabis Act, Cannabis products, its approved uses.Good working knowledge of executing Risk Assessments and Change ControlsExperimental execution and administrationProject management oversight and executionFocused, dedicated professional approach with high attention to detail.Must follow Zenabis’ policies and contribute towards the goal of achieving Production targets within set timelines.Knowledge and compliance with GPP, GMP and GACPStrong background in plant scienceDuties and ResponsibilitiesExecutes plans for R&D experiments and assists the results from R&D to create strategic Cultivation Strategies.Executes the executional plans for equipment and standard practice center liningAssists in gathering trends and identify abnormalities.Assists in the review of measurements, recorded data and observations recorded by Cultivation Specialists.Assist with the writing and execution of Standard Operating Procedures related to irrigation, propagation, flower, and all other cultivation related processesAssists in the maintaining irrigation system sanitation protocolsMonitors for Quality Control checks to ensure process and product Quality in line with site Quality Assurance team.Collaborates with other department associates in all areas to improve process performance and safety.Employs professional and clear communication practices to maintain a positive and progressive team atmosphere.Works well alone and a team environment.Documented people management experience and abilityGood communication and documentation skills.Other duties as assignedQualificationsDegree in Biology, plant science, or related in both education and experienceCommercial grow experience or professional equivalency is an asset.Proficient in Microsoft office suitePrevious Health Canada Security Clearance and work experience with a Canadian Licensed Producer (LP) is considered as an assetStrong Agricultural background in a GACP regulated environment, with proficiency in various cultivation and plant maintenance techniques.Demonstrated experience in cultivation of cannabis or other delicate commercial crops.PaySalary: Commensurate with experience and qualificationsSecurity ClearanceSecurity Clearance may be requested for this position.
