We are growing!Thermogenics will support you learning a trade.Thermogenics has an immediate employment opportunity for a General Labourer/Equipment Painter who will be responsible for supporting the Manufacturing operations while benefiting from valuable manufacturing experience.WHY JOIN US

POSITION OVERVIEW:Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of paint coating and spray booth equipment and systems as well as performing the cleaning, masking, and painting various industrial components.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Main Activities:
  • Use of spray equipment to apply paint.
  • Knowledge and use of supplied TDS, SDS.
  • Clean and prep surfaces using such processes as sanding, scraping and grinding
  • Remove grease, dirt, paint, or rust in preparation for paint application, using abrasives, solvents, or sandblasters
  • Pour paint into spray guns and adjust nozzles and paint mixes for proper paint flow and coating thickness
  • Monitor and identify flaws, such as blisters or streaks, and correct the cause
  • Sand surfaces between coats of paint or primer to remove flaws and enhance adhesion for subsequent coats
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers and power equipment, using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths for cleaning duties
  • Ensure all paint-related waste is properly labelled, stored and disposed of
  • Maintain paint booth and associated equipment to ensure proper working conditions
  • Ensure all Health and Safety procedures are followed
  • Other duties as assigned
TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous industrial painting/coating experience is ideal
  • Previous industrial or automotive painting or coating experience will be considered
  • Metal finishing – blasting, grinding, sanding experience
  • Positive attitude, respectful and friendly communication, and a team player
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of safety standards in the performance of painting duties
  • Proficient with paint system and booth maintenance procedures
  • Must be able to operate lifting devices for movement of parts
  • Must possess basic math skills
Monday – Thursday 6:30am – 5:00pmMay also be from 6:30 am to 3:45 pm Monday to Thursday and 6:30 am to 11:30 am on Friday.Occasional overtime (e.g. weekends) work may become available as required in the business and paid at overtime rates.We expect to compensate the successful candidate at hourly rates consistent with market and based on experience.The role is entitled to 4% vacation pay and paid statutory holidays.
