Job Description

​ ​ Powell Contracting, a division of RSG International, was established in 1967. With over 50 years #39; experience, we are the industry leader in providing Ontario with the supply and installation of temporary concrete barriers, noise barriers, crash cushions, guide rails, ground mount signs, overhead signs, and sign structures. Our integrated solutions and project delivery strategies improve project timelines and processes, generating increased capabilities for projects including outfitting highways, transit systems, airports, and municipal contracts.The Junior Scheduler will be responsible for planning the workload in advance, ensuring the proper resources, equipment and materials are available to complete the work efficiently.Responsibilities

  • Allocate resources 36 hours in advance (Foreman, Operator, Truckingamp; Material)
  • Coordinate and balance workload
  • Run daily meetings with Project Management team to review completed and upcoming work.
  • Organize weekly look ahead meeting to review next week’s workload.
  • Organize meetings as required with Senior management to discuss operational constraints from the Project Management team’s requests: Labour, Material, Equipment
  • Provide Foreman a weekly schedule.
  • Generate monthly reports.
  • Coordinate weekend labour requirements, provide preliminary truck forecasts and provide weekly material forecasts to internal stakeholders.
  • Improve scheduling efficiencies.
  • Coordinate storage yard and precast pickups.
  • Other duties as assigned and required
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil or Construction Engineering or an appropriate field considered a strong asset
  • Previous Construction Scheduling experience considered a strong asset
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Effective verbal and listening communications skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver #39;s license.
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Collaborative in dealing with customers and fellow employees.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Receptive to change - can adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Must be organized and accountable.
