Job Description

Company OverviewPakFab Engineered Solutions is a North American company with a world class team of packaging experts. We design, program-manage, fabricate, source, retro-fit, repair/service, and breakdown/recycle all types of packaging – metal, plastic, foam, bags, bulk/standard bins and a variety of custom dunnage. We provide solutions to a variety of industries: automotive, industrial, alternate energy, electronic and aerospace.Position SummaryThe position of Brake Press Operator includes but is not limited to the operation, setup and of break press machines as well as a variety of hand and power tools and will be required to work according to established procedures, read and understand work orders and blueprints, and follow all safety protocols and workplace policies.Responsibilities

  • Operation and setup of brake press machines
  • Inform Lead Hand of required supplies/inventory and report of any defects
  • Identifies cut parts with part numbers to ensure they are routed to the appropriate machining operation
  • Use a variety of measuring devices such as verniers, micrometers, tape measure, etc. to ensure parts are within acceptable tolerance as determined by the drawings
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance on the brake press machine
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and PakFab policies
  • Other assigned work as required.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience as a brake press operator
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production shop
  • Preferably possess a valid driver’s license
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Able to effectively communicate
  • Able to work well under pressure
Work Conditions
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Safety equipment will be required, e.g., CSA approved steel-toed safety boots, weld helmet, etc.
  • Overtime as required
  • Hazards associated with the trade
