Position Summary and Purpose: Position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day conformance of accounting functions, supervising staff, ensuring financial stability for the organization, and securing financial operations by monitoring and approving financial processing. MPT accounting staff will assist in training for essential job functions. This is a key hands-on role, that includes leading a small office staff related to customer service/office function.
  • Overall responsibility for the accounting and office function
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries, and perform monthly financial closing and reporting
  • Responsible for Accounts Payable & Receivable function, as well as General Ledger and Journal Entries
  • Perform full bi-weekly payroll cycle (ADP/Ceridian) preparation and accounting for hourly and plan employees
  • Bank transactions accounting and reconciliations
  • Manage small office functions
  • Partner with the growth of the company
  • Weekly bank balance reporting
  • Perform month and year-end closing, reporting, and auditing
  • Responding to management queries
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associates degree (or higher) in accounting
  • Minimum experience of 2 years in accounting
  • Minimum experience of 2 years in a management role
  • Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness
  • Experience with H/R and payroll
  • Highly motivated, very detailed and service oriented with a proven track record
  • Strong communicator with positive attitude
  • Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Well versed with MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and QuickBooks
  • Experience with A/R, A/P, G/L, and J/E’s
VALUED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:
  • Experience with Epicor ERP functionality
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting
Reporting to this Position:
  • Accounts Receivable Personnel
  • Customer Service Personnel
The Location: Moeller Precision Tool is centrally located between Toronto and London.
