Job Description

High Tails Pet Resort has a opening for an Animal Care Attendant. We are looking for a devoted team player who thrives in a collaborative environment, a believer in high quality care—with the experience and know-how to make it happen.At High Tails we specialize in stress reduction, disease control and superior client service. We work with all breeds, sizes and temperaments. We are located in Rocky View County (5km east of Cross Iron Mills) so you will need your own reliable transportation to and from our work site.We are looking for candidates with open availability including evenings, weekends and holidays. Part time or full time hours are available.Minimum Qualifications:

  • Kennel or Daycare Attendant or previous experience in the pet industry; hands on working with canines in a professional setting
  • Must have at least 2 years’ industry experience working with fearful and reactive dogs
  • Understand the basics of animal body language and behaviour through seminar and professional development attendance
  • Team player
  • Are physically able to stand for long periods of time, bend and lift up to 60 lbs
  • Be able to safely move, examine and interact with dogs of all sizes including dogs that are over 100 lbs
  • Available all holidays including Christmas Day and New Year’s Day
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate play sessions both group and individual
  • Engage with the dogs during play sessions to improve their level socialization and confidence
  • Complete animal care duties including feeding, watering and medicating
  • Keep the daycare and lodging facilities clean
  • Be able to assess and communicate the needs of each individual animal to better assist with their care
  • Immediately and accurately update the manager on duty of any change in behaviour, and/or health status
  • Correctly fill out any charting that is required to document the animals’ progress and health status
  • Provide exemplary customer service to our clients
