Nestled in Barrhead, Alberta, GFR Ingredients is a leading-edge manufacturer of plant based raw materials used by so many companies right now.We’re looking for a Production Supervisor to join our team on a rotational shift (flexibility and variety). • Oversee production plans, schedules, manufacturing processes and procedures.
• Ensure that we keep all our machinery and equipment properly maintained and running smoothly (no one likes downtime around here).
• Participate in analysis of information to implement product improvements in quality, cost, and delivery.
• Stay safe! Help maintain a safe working environment, ensuring continued compliance to established Occupational Health and Safety standards for you and your colleagues.
• Quality all the way, and foremost in importance – lead by example in ensuring the overall quality of product compliance and making sure that we meet our Good Manufacturing Process requirements.
• Maintain the set schedule for the week and provide status updates.
• Create a daily review of all product run times, providing notes for each product that is over or under the specified run times. Review each goal sheet for each product run in Production.
• Troubleshoot problems bought by Production and provide evaluation on the situation to Production Manager.
• Foster open communication with your warehouse colleagues regarding any extra materials required or changes in the schedule, etc.
• Work with your Lead Hands on the crafting of any necessary SOP documents.
• Manage your team’s performance and productivity by working with HR support on interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, coaching and development.
• Engage in continuous learning and professional development to maintain current knowledge within the field to meet required compliance and regulatory job requirements.
• Use your 5 Class Boiler Ticket OR obtain it within 12 months of joining GFRI (we’ll support with education allowance).

Experience & Education:

• 5+ years experience in production of food, natural, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• 1+ years leadership of people.
• Strong knowledge in GMP, HACCP, and other food quality & safety regulations.
