Job Description

Position Summary:Reporting to the Agency Manager, Petroleum the Site Supervisor, Petroleum is responsible for all functions related to the Petroleum Agency operations. This includes ensuring company financial and service objectives are reached, ensuring all company policies are followed, and supervising of petroleum agency staff. The Site Supervisor also performs management functions in the Agency Manager’s absence.Key Accountabilities:

  • Work with the Agency Manager to attain the site sales, margin, expense, and EBITDA budget targets. Ensure all UFA, government and regulatory authorities’ policies, laws and regulations are being complied with, and that the UFA EHSMS is implemented.
  • Support the Agency Manager on staff management, including hiring new staff, scheduling staff, and developing employees. Responsible for daily routine supervision of employees on the agency site.
  • Supervision of opening and closing functions of the agency site. Actively involved with all areas of the agency operations, including all back office systems, inventory management, daily cash summaries, and deposits. Timely communications with the Agency Manager, to ensure that they understand what is happening at the agency at all times. Respond in a timely and accurate manner to CSO requests.
  • Ability to proactively engage in agricultural sales activity.
  • Support all UFA initiatives regarding competitive pricing, products, and promotions. Continually strive to increase market share by customer contact through sales calls, farm calls, and telephone contact, as required.
  • Assist with the accurate and timely shipping and receiving of products. Responsibilities include complete fuel inventory management activities such as daily fuel reconciliations, fuel variance investigation, weekly physical tank dips, and dispenser meter head comparisons.
  • Control inventory in accordance with guidelines as set out by UFA. Perform maintenance on inventory, or cycle counts, including trouble shooting/problem solving, as directed.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to other employees on product knowledge, customer service, and all UFA policies and procedures. Assist Customer Sales and Service Representatives with customer service issues, and assist with rectifying negative customer experiences.
  • Ensure agency, yard, warehouse, and exterior locations are clean, neat, well organized, and in compliance with UFA’s safety and Achievement of Imperatives standards.
  • Provide leadership with all Health, Safety & Environment Management System (HSEMS) policies and procedures, as well as ensuring observation of all OH&S legislation and COR.
  • Liaise with UFA Agribusiness staff in joint offers and promote the UFA Agribusiness brand.
Required Qualifications:
  • Five years of related supervisory experience in a customer focused environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, self-motivated.
  • Cash handling, computer proficiency, and previous customer service experience required.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly. Experience with SAP and/or other enterprise management systems an asset.
  • Knowledge of Petroleum products and supplies an asset.
  • Petroleum background is preferred, Agricultural background an asset.
  • Forklift experience an asset.
  • Capable of physical labor, including lifting items up to 25kg on a regular basis.
  • Capable of working at heights.
