KIT Recruitment is excited to announce a new opportunity for a Grain Buyer at this large Import/Export Company HQ in Mississauga. The company buys and markets soybeans, dry beans, and inedible beans. The position is located near North Battleford, Saskatchewan. As the Grain Buyer , you will be responsible for procuring and managing purchasing contracts related to the procurement strategy. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can work autonomously, and is a clear and concise communicator. Attention to detail is crucial, and we need a team player who can lead by example, take ownership of responsibilities, and ensure that critical deadlines are consistently met. Grain Buyer Details:Monday to Friday, Hybrid3 weeks holidaysBenefits from day 1Travel allowance.Excellent base salary up to six figures based on experience.Great bonus compensation Grain Buyer Responsibilities:Grow existing business base and build relationships directly with farmers and develop new partnershipsResponsible for negotiating and buying grain such as lentils, peas, chickpeas, and other particular crops and continually increasing market shareEstablish and maintain customer relationships with farmers, brokers, and toll processorsKeep daily records on kinds grades of grain received, prices paid, amount purchased, and amount in storagePurchase correct grades of grains for domestic contracts and exportsEnsure delivery of products on time to the stipulated destinationSend out daily reports to management of all offers and bidsSends out weekly crop progress and harvest reports as well as market trends Employment Qualifications:Degree in Ag-Business or other formal training preferred.Minimum 2 years of experience working within the grain industry with solid contactsProven track record for building strong Farmer and Grain Elevators relationsProficiency with grain purchasing and contract management requiredProficient computer skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and AccessExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills while maintaining high-quality customer-service orientationAbility to travel in Canada, Western provinces mostly, and abroad to visit farming operations and grain elevators (less than 10% of time)
