Job Description

Reporting to the Night Shift Manager, the Outbound Lead Hand is part of the operations leadership team that will identify process improvements to increase productivity, efficiencies, and profitability. The position is responsible for leading and overseeing the outbound team to build a high-performance team and culture.Responsibilities:

  • Coaching and mentoring staff to improve performance
  • Drive culture and accountability
  • Oversee the daily outbound functions of the warehouse
  • Ensure HACCP regulations are being followed to control temperature of product
  • Identify and drive process improvements to selection and shipping departments
  • Ability to perform selection, receiving, loading, shipping, customer service, invoicing, and inventory control duties at any time during a shift
  • All other related duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
Leadership:
  • Identify and meet the needs of others and influence them to contribute towards personal and company goals
  • Participate actively and create team goals
  • Provide resources to team members to be successful in their role
  • Work well under pressure
Education / Experience:
  • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, to use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solution, and to monitor / assess performance of other individuals
  • An understanding of the food distribution industry as well as OH&S and HCCAP
