Job Description

Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Corporate Development Senior Manager on a permanent basis on our Growth and Business Development team. This team supports a wide range of strategic growth initiatives and commercial negotiations and enables senior management and boards to make informed business and investment decisions that drive shareholder value.   • Drive the identification, evaluation, and financial analysis of potential opportunities that support the growth of the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) for both existing and new lines of business.
  • Lead projects teams through the entire corporate development process, including initial screening, feasibility analysis, due diligence, negotiation, and development of definitive agreements.
  • Recommend and execute on growth opportunities and provide advice on growth-related requests from the organization and partner with the various businesses and regions to formulate growth strategies and accelerate them through acquisition and greenfield development.
  • Develop financial projections, analysis and valuation of growth opportunities, including acquisitions, joint ventures, and greenfield projects.
  • Develop financial and valuation tools and processes within the Business Development team and work with the Finance team to establish financial model best practices.
  • Provide advice and recommendations to the senior leadership team in defining long-term organizational strategic goals and stay informed and up-to-date on industry knowledge, trends, and the competitive landscape.

You will report into the Director, Growth and Business Development.   • Have 8+ years of relevant, progressively responsible experience in a multifaceted complex organization, with 6 years #39; experience in business and project development, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning and analysis, investment banking or a transactional environment.
  • Have strong financial acumen with an excellent understanding and experience with financial statements, ratio analysis, and performance return measures.
  • Have experience with financial valuation methodologies (Discounted Cash Flow, precedent transactions, comparable company analysis, EBITDA, and Fair Market Value).
  • Have a University degree majoring in Commerce, Finance, Engineering, Law or any related fields (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • Familiarity with consumer (food, pharmacy, liquor, home centres), agriculture or energy industries is an asset.
  • Have a financial designation (CA/CPA, CFA, CBV) would be preferred.
