Job Description

The live sports and entertainment industry is unique and exciting, especially in Saskatchewan. SaskTel Centre continues to be a leader in large-scale entertainment through live sports, concerts, and other community events. We have an exclusive opportunity for the right person to join our dedicated team of passionate members as Director of Facility Management.SaskTel Centre is seeking a hands-on leader who will play an essential role in maintaining and enhancing the venues core system functions. This will include providing oversight for all conversions for events, maintenance and upkeep of the facility and the property, budget and capital asset management and building systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and external agencies. If you enjoy implementing systems and processes and possess strong organizational skills, then this is the job for you!This position reports directly to the CEO and requires flexibility to work varying hours to service the many concerts, events and our sports teams, the Saskatoon Blades, Saskatchewan Rush and Saskatchewan Rattlers.The qualifications for this position include;

  • Bachelor #39;s degree from accredited college/university in a related field such as Facility Management or Operations Management is preferred; or a Post Secondary Diploma in related fields is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years in a leadership role with an operational background.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Must have technical background with knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in building systems maintenance and operation.
  • Experience with leading a team in a unionized environment.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check
The duties of this position include;
  • Directs the maintenance and upkeep of the facility, including the grounds, and custodial operations.
  • Manages event setup, ensuring timely, efficient, and effective conversions from one event to another.
  • Oversees all elements of facility operations including maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, HVAC, equipment, and smoke/fire detectors.
  • Develops and implements strategies, policies and processes that promote continuous improvement in daily operations by reducing costs and increasing efficiency.
  • Assigns work schedules, assesses staffing needs, identifies and pursues other resources if necessary and performs layoff and recall.
  • Lead and coordinate staff training programs, certifications, and tracking training records.
  • Leads the ongoing development, implementation, and revision of the strategic operational plan for SaskTel Centre and reports on assigned key performance indicators.
  • Participate in the development and administration of the Operations budget; forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures; implement adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintains current knowledge of equipment, technology and techniques pertaining to operational requirements and plans. Oversees the development and accurate record keeping systems for equipment maintenance, PMs, and work orders.
  • Manages a variety of capital improvement projects from conception, research, RFP/tender process, decision-making, implementation, and daily management.
