As a Heavy Equipment Operator you will support plant needs by ensuring a safe and productive work environment. In this position, you will have the opportunity to use different skills every day as you learn the aggregate industry and fill in for vacancies in various areas of our plant. You may be required to operate: Front End Loader, Articulating Rock Truck, Gravel Yarder, Excavator, Dozer.Heidelberg Materials provides the materials to build our future. Our future is sustainable. Heidelberg Materials North America, previously known as Lehigh Hanson (locally known as Inland Concrete and Aggregates), operates more than 450 locations with approximately 9,000 employees in the U.S. and Canada.We Offer- Secure, long-term employment- Competitive wage and benefits package- Training and development- Opportunities for advancement- OT availableWhat You #39;ll Get To Do- Operate mobile equipment on plant property (loader, haul truck, yarder, etc.)- Maintain cleanliness of plant work areas- Assist with plant tasks including lubrication, maintenance, repairs- Transport materials to and from storage and shop areas- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures; assist with physical inspections of plant property/departments.What We Are Looking For- High school diploma or GED required- Formal training and/or red seal certification and proven proficiency required- Previous experience in an open pit mine is an asset- Experience using (or ability to learn) plant mobile equipment- Desire to work cooperatively as part of a productive team- Ability to work safely, and independently without constant supervision- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- Capable of learning through on the job training- Able to work inside and outside in year-round weather conditions- In good physical condition, able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs., sit and stand for extended periods of time, kneel, climb ladders, and walk on varied terrain- Ability to work different extended hours, holidays and/or overtime required- The following credentials will be strongly considered as assets but are not required:- OH amp;S Level 1amp; 2- OH amp;S Supervision and Safety- First Aid- Ground Disturbance
