Job Description

Description:Our client is looking for a Mechanical Commissioning Startup Engineer Lead (CSU) who will be responsible for managing field electro-mechanical commissioning projects in support of startup commissioning efforts on the Great Plain Power Station project in Moosejaw.This position will be responsible for overseeing the execution of tests for a wide variety of electrical and mechanical equipment and systems in conformance with startup commissioning standards and procedures.They will be responsible for developing detailed schedules and maintaining the project schedule to achieve project milestones and for managing craft labor budget and project costs specific to discipline.The Mechanical CSU Engineer is responsible for all plant mechanical equipment. The engineer is the primary point of contact for all systems mechanical function through startup and operation of the plant. Activities include but are not limited to:

  • Verify mechanical systems installed per design
  • Confirm design operational feasibility
  • Perform field engineering changes
  • Record as built engineering changes on drawings
  • Perform initial operation flushing, testing and tuning for each system.
  • Ensure proper setup and testing of mechanical equipment as per supplier requirements
  • Verify mechanical equipment is operating at system design requirements.
  • In conjunction with the Foreman coordinate Mechanical Fitter and Millwright activities
  • Track, record and report progress on assigned systems
  • Maintain plant turnover documentation
  • Support plant operation
  • Cover chemical engineer responsibilities in absence of Chemical SU Engineer or as assigned.
Skills:Power Plant, PIPE, valves, HRSGAdditional Skillsamp; Qualifications:MUST THAVE:
  • 10+ years start-up experience for power plants or industrial plants (mining, O amp;G, power) dealing with pipes, equipment, valves, etc.
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree
  • P.Eng
  • Supervisory/Lead experience (overall supervision of construction effort and all mechanical disciplines)
  • Communicate with internal/external stakeholders
  • Ability to direct construction craft labor
  • Complete plant commissioning work
NICE TO HAVES:
  • Operations and CSU experience
  • power generation experience
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft excel and PCL #39;s system
  • Detail Oriented
  • Hands on Field Work
