Our engineering and project management and construction disciplines ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable delivery of projects globally across the metals and mining, infrastructure, and energy sectors.We manage our clients #39; entire project lifecycle from studies to building assets, operating the assets, and developing efficiencies. Join our team and become part of a community that strives for positive change-providing the best solutions for our clients #39; toughest challenges!As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be part of an integrated engineering team providing engineering services for large and small capital projects.As the successful candidate, you will:- Develop a thorough understanding of the project requirements as they relate to scope, cost and schedule.- Prepare a list of engineering deliverables and time-based functions to facilitate the planning and control of the engineering budget.- Maintain the project scope of work documentation and revisions as required during the design evolution.- Review and execute the electrical and layout design criteria documents.- Review electrical technical deliverables (specifications, datasheets, drawings, etc.).- Assist in the preparation and development of project specific procedures.- Define the system requirements to achieve the project results and monitor effectiveness.- Represent the electrical practice in project engineering coordination meetings.- Participate in electrical design reviews.- Ensure coordination, between the electrical team and other disciplines, of all activities being performed as the design evolves.- Ensure that quality audits of engineering work are carried out in accordance with project procedures and the quality assurance plan.- Promote and maintain the application of ethical and professional practices in the execution of electrical engineering work.- Ensure that all work designed, manufactured and supplied in the electrical engineering discipline complies with the relevant sections of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).- Participation in the compilation of the client Project Safety Management Plan with specific reference to switching, isolation and lockout procedures.You bring to the role:- Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical engineering from an accredited university.- 8-10 years #39; experience overall ideally within an EPCM, heavy industrial environment, preferred.- Strong deliverable focus and ability to plan the work.- A high degree of understanding of interdisciplinary dependencies related to the discipline.- Strong understanding of procurement, contracting and commissioning methodologies.- Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards (NEC, NFPA and IEEE standards).- Knowledge on electrical calculations (short circuit, load flow, arc flash and harmonics).- Knowledge on specification of large motor/generator sets and associated equipment, including high-voltage switchgear, transformers, starters and related protection systems.- Knowledge on electrical design tools / software such as SPEL ETAP, SKM, and Easy Power are a plus.- Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to convey project technical information to project managers, clients and peers.- Must demonstrate organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, take direction, and provide direction to others ensuring the quality of deliverables.Why join us- Work with great people (https://bit.ly/36124ja) to make a difference- Collaborate on exciting projects (http://bit.ly/HatchProjects) to develop innovative solutions- Top employer (https://bit.ly/3p39hIa)What we offer you- Flexible work environment- Long term career development- Think globally, work locallyDon #39;t meet every single requirement You don #39;t need to.
