Learn more at vecima.com.Position Summary:The Senior Technical Analyst is part of a team responsible for the stable operation of the organization #39;s infrastructure. This position will be responsible for the corporate network, network security and Linux servers. The network consists of Cisco firewalls and switches. The Linux servers are predominately Ubuntu.Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Responsible for the support and management of all network infrastructure, which includes firewalls, switches and wireless access points
  • Responsible for all aspects of network security
  • Responsible for the management of 100+ Linux servers. This includes installing, patching, compiling, securing, and troubleshooting Linux servers
  • The escalation point for Tier 1 Technicians
  • Create system documentation during implementation and maintain documentation as system changes are made
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on network hardware, services and standards in support of technology solutions for the organization
  • Accountable for staying current on the latest products and technologies, security threats and advisories, relevant patches and upgrades for the server and storage infrastructure
  • Provide input into the departmental budget for IT
  • Work in a 24/7 environment and participate in on-call rotation as needed
  • Configure and maintain Cisco Firewall NGFW (Cisco FMC and FTD) and switches
  • Capable to analyze problems, troubleshooting, coordinating, and implementing solutions
Position Requirements:
  • 5 years of experience with supporting network equipment and Linux servers in a medium or large organization
  • 2-year diploma from a recognized institution in Information Technology or an equivalent combination of recent and relevant education, training and experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu)
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco network equipment and Cisco CLI
  • Current certifications such as VCP, MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Network +, Linux+ are an asset
  • Knowledge in the administration and use of the following: Ubuntu Linux, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Active Directory, and VMWare VCenter
