It provides an opportunity for professional growth to the selected individual within the thermal power business unit by engaging in business development and project execution for studies, detailed design and owner #39;s engineering work for utilities, industrial clients, and independent power producers.The incumbent should be highly knowledgeable of the Power Industry in Canada and the key players and contacts. The incumbent should be a mechanical engineer with process experience including gas turbines, steam turbines, boilers, piping and thermal cycle system designs. Operations, construction, and commissioning experience is highly desired. Engineering office design work and leadership is required. Project Management Professional registration and/or PM Program experience is preferred. Interpersonal skills and personnel management experience and abilities are key attributes.Roleamp; Responsibilities- Plan, execute and deliver high quality engineering and technical consulting services for thermal power/cogeneration projects.- Manage assigned studies and projects for clients including interfacing and reporting to clients, monitoring, and managing budgets and schedules.- Provide mentorship to young engineers.- Provide support to other regions in the development and delivery of project within the Power BU.- Support business development efforts and strategic initiatives, including preparation of proposals, and pursuit plans.- Add value to clients #39; businesses, create business relationships, prepare proposals, and support business development.- Review and approve technical deliverables.- Adhere to and promote the Hatch corporate safety culture.Qualifications- Mechanical engineering degree from an accredited university.- Registered Professional Engineer.- Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience within the thermal power industry.- Experience with thermal power generation systems, such as gas, biomass, liquid fuel, hydrogen, district energy and industrial thermal systems.- Ability to work within focused and multi-disciplinary teams and experience in leading teams and projects.- Experience in project development / maturity from Conceptual engineering through Feasibility, Basic and to Detail Engineering.- Proven track record in developing strong and lasting relationships with clients.- Excellent interpersonal, communication and client engagement skills.- Flexibility for short term business travel.- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience within organizations and teams, people manager.Why join us- Work withgreat people (https://bit.ly/36124ja) to make a difference- Collaborate on excitingprojects (http://bit.ly/HatchProjects) to develop innovative solutions- Top employer (https://bit.ly/3p39hIa)What we offer you- Flexible work environment- Long term career development- Think globally, work locallyDon #39;t meet every single requirement You don #39;t need to.
