Job Description

Does the idea of providing innovative engineering design solutions for bridges, buildings, and marine structures excite youAgilus is recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer in the Civil Engineering Sector in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This opportunity is at a Boutique firm that is an industry leader in the risk management of critical civil engineering assets. As a senior Structural Engineer, you will be directly reporting and working closely with the President and leading a team of Junior Engineers in the field of civil and structural engineering with special focus on bridges, and marine structures. Our client is on the roster of multiple levels of governments (federal, provincial and municipal) and you will have the opportunity to work on interesting government projects. How you will make an impact:

  • By providing leadership and supervision to the junior engineers
  • Being an expert in Structural design, Structural analysis and modeling
  • Bringing your experienceamp; expertise in Design and drawing review
  • Carrying out Specifications and Quantity estimation
  • Being thorough in Project management and leading projects from start to close
  • Leading Structural inspection and assessments for various projects
  • Carrying out Fieldwork and visiting project sites when needed
  • Preparation, review and/or signing off on reports
Successful candidates will have:
  • Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience as a Professional Engineer in Canada
  • Professional Engineer’s designation (P.Eng) in any Province of Canada with eligibility for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia
  • Master of Engineering (Structural Engineering) from a recognized educational institution
  • A high level of proficiency in structural analysis and modeling
  • An intermediate level of proficiency in MS Office Suite and MS Project
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant Canadian design codes and standards
  • Familiarity/experience with engineering software programs
