CHILDamp; YOUTH INSTRUCTORFile Number: SV24-87Number of Positions: 2 (Two)Position Type: Temporary Part-TimeHourly Rate: $19.60 – $21.47 per hour Hours of Work: Approximately 6-8 hours per week daytimeDepartment: Community Services DepartmentEmployee Group: Administrative Group Work Location: Quinte Sports and Wellness CentreClosing Date: August 2nd, 2024 at 4:30PM PURPOSE AND SCOPEAs a member of the Community Services Department, this staff person will provide children and youth with an opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills in a variety of general or special interest activities in a friendly, engaging, and caring environment. This position reports directly to the Youth Programmer.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensuring the safety and supervision of the participants and following all rules and regulations set out by the Community Services Department and/or outside organizations.
  • Responsible for the planning, development, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of the activities being led to ensure a successful program.
  • Responsible for the proper handling, cleanliness, and care of the equipment, supplies, and facilities and to report any damages or losses to the supervisor.
  • Ensure the completion and submission of the required administrative forms (lesson plans, injury reports, supply requests, etc.) in a timely manner.
  • Attend all Staff Training sessions and scheduled staff meetings, as required.

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of age.
  • Must be at minimum enrolled in high school.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR#39;C #39; Certification from a WSIB recognized organization.
  • Minimum 2 (two) years’ experience working with children.
  • High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development certificate is considered an asset.
  • Post-secondary student or graduate in a child-related field is considered an asset.
