Assistive Technology Support Worker - Kings County SchoolsAssistive Technology Support Worker Serving the Kings County Family of SchoolsWorksite: To be determinedVacant Position - Full TimeWages starting at $21.21/hour, 7 Hours per day - 195 days per yearClosing date for applications - January 12, 2022Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance with the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union (NSGEU) Local 73 Bargaining Unit.The Assistive Technology Support Worker is responsible for providing specialized knowledge and skills in the use of accessible education materials and assistive technology for students with disabilities and others experiencing barriers to learning. Consistent with policies of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and the regional education entity, the Assistive Technology Support Worker will work within the Inclusive Education Policy and MTSS framework for the delivery of services to students. The Assistive Technology Support Worker will support the appropriate use of student equipment, technology, and applications (hardware and software). The Assistive Technology Support Worker will work with students individually and in small groups within the school setting to teach students how to use assistive technology efficiently and effectively for increased well-being and student achievement. Working collaboratively with educational professionals and specialists the Assistive Technology Support Worker will demonstrate a strong commitment to the school improvement process in support of student learning and reports directly to the Student Services Coordinator.Competencies RequiredThe Assistive Technology Support Worker shall have the following competencies:
