Job Description

This person is dedicated and compassionate. Behaviour Interventionists are responsible for assisting Behaviour Analysts to implement and embed behaviour reduction and skill acquisition plans throughout the day using our philosophy of a student/client centred lifespan approach. The candidate will assist students/clients with day to day activities, monitor their behaviour, record and collect data on clients progress, and communicate with clients’ families. Personal care of student/client may also be required. Other duties may include clerical and administrative duties.To be successful in this role, you will display a compassionate nature, empathy and discretion in your work. You will have excellent communication and time management skills and be able to develop and maintain relationships with clients, supervisors and colleagues. Prior experience in a behavioral health setting is advantageous.Behaviour Interventionist Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care to clients in a one-on-one or group setting to implement skill acquisition and behaviour reduction plans as directed by the supervisor.
  • Collect and record data on clients’ behaviour.
  • Collaborate, communicate and assist with the training of clients, parents and staff.
  • Work with teaching staff to create a safe and blending learning environment
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for clients and family.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Attend training to acquire further knowledge.
Behaviour Interventionist Requirements
  • Certificate, Bachelor’s or equivalent in a behavioural health or related field.
  • Additional certification (RBT/BCaBA/BCBA) is would be considered an asset
  • Relevant experience an asset
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer and technology related skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training (NVCI)
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector and Child Abuse Registry
Additional Behaviour Technician Responsibilities
  • Follow the lesson plans created and assist when asked
  • Follow the Behaviour Management Plans set forth by the Behaviour Analyst
  • Follow the Individual Program Plans set forth by the Head Teacher
  • Follow all safety plans, protocols, procedures and codes of conduct
