Job Description

Position Summary: The maintenance team is under the general direction of and responsible to the Maintenance Supervisor/Department Leader. The maintenance worker is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting all facility services including, but not limited to, electrical, plumbing, and building repairs. The worker must perform preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment for all departments as well as maintain the grounds, parking lot and service road.Credentials: Grade 12/post-secondary training in one or more of the tradesQualifications: · Maintenance and building systems experience· Experience in one or more of the following trades: Plumbing, electrical, or carpentry· Resident-centeredness and passion for working with older people an asset.· Be willing to take part in a rotating on call system.· Physical Demands: standing, squatting, bending, twisting, walking short distances at a time throughout the day, lifting, moving furniture etc.· Good team player· Excellent communication skillsResponsibilities: · Strong troubleshooting skills· Be willing to fill the regular on call requirements as per rotation.· Be able to multi-task and be able to have the mind set to prioritize work load.· Work in a safe and efficient manner· Experience in one or more of the following trades: Plumbing, electrical, or carpentry· Experience in painting/crack filling and building maintenance experience· Communicating and planning your work schedule with your supervisor and/or co-workers· Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets· Have WHMIS training· Ensure all facility equipment is maintained in good working order· Comply with Grand View Manor Dress Code· Respect for residents and staff members· Ensuring safety for residents and staffJob Type: Full-timeSalary: $20.78-$21.66 per hourAdditional pay:
