This role serves to carry out accounting and contract compliance for efficient processing and maintenance of customer accounts. This position reports to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor.Responsibilities.

  • Review billing tickets and progress templates to ensure compliance with contract rates, terms and conditionsapplicable to labour, equipment, third party costs and rules of credit.
  • Identify and communicate billing discrepancies to project controls team and AR Supervisor
  • Invoice preparation and posting in ERP and customer invoicing systems.
  • Responding to customer enquiries via email and phone.
  • Contract review to ensure compliance with terms and conditions, billing procedures, holdback release provisions and obtaining required close out documents for various customers.
  • Account management, reconciliation and weekly reporting to AR Supervisor and Controller.
  • Monitoring of unbilled third-party costs.
  • Vendor account maintenance including vendor setup and banking confirmations.
  • GST reconciliations.
  • Maintaining electronic and paper records.
  • Assisting with special projects.
RequirementsKnowledge:
  • 3-5 years of accounts receivable and general accounting exposure and experience.
  • Applicable post-secondary degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of common accounting principles and procedures.
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications, specifically Wordamp; Excel.
  • Through understanding of Goods and Services and Provincial tax implications within Canada.
  • Understanding of the Prompt Payment and Builder’s Lien Act in various provinces.
  • Understanding of effective communication techniques for collections and dispute resolution.

  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to apply professional judgment while adhering to internal controls and policies.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
