Job Description

Job DescriptionMission   As the Project Manager for our esteemed client in the education sector, your mission is to oversee the successful execution of construction projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints. You will serve as the linchpin between consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders, driving collaboration and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. With a keen eye for detail and a dedication to safety, you will monitor project progress, identify and address any issues proactively, and maintain meticulous documentation to ensure transparency and accountability. Your strategic leadership and expertise will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional outcomes that meet the unique needs of our client and contribute to the enhancement of educational facilities in the Hastings and Prince Edward area.Primary Responsibilities

  • Attend bi-weekly site meetings with Consultants and Contractor
  • Review construction progress, identify issues, and document each site visit with notes and pictures.
  • Monitor Health and Safety items, reporting issues to the project team.
  • Possess strong knowledge of building design and construction practices, including architectural and engineering design, Building and Fire code requirements, and constructability considerations.
  • Review and comment on architectural and engineering construction documents.
  • Understand and apply CCDC-2 contract conditions, ensuring adherence.
  • Maintain project schedule per contract.
  • Review proposed changes and change order pricing for fairness and necessity.
  • Ensure regular site reviews and testing by Consultants and third-party agencies.
  • Coordinate construction work impacting daily operations with involved parties.
  • Coordinate work by other contractors/vendors for additional project scope.
  • Interface with governing bodies and Authorities Having Jurisdiction as needed.
  • Obtain necessary safety training and certification.
  • Manage Purchase Orders and invoicing with relevant departments.
  • Review Consultant requests for additional fees.
  • Maintain project budget and tracking of additional costs.
  • Provide project updates to staff and departments as required.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations for senior leadership and governing bodies.
  • Maintain thorough project documentation using network structure.
