Job Description

FACILITIES TECHNICIANLocation: Bradford, ONReporting to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager, the Facilities Tech will be located at Bradford, ON, at our River facility. The Facilities Tech will work as part of a multidisciplinary team including mechanical, electrical, and building infrastructure specialists supporting internal Propagation and Quality customers. The candidate must have a solid background in HVACR and possess a thorough understanding of BAS systems. They must be skilled in utilizing heating and cooling equipment to meet production objectives and support healthy plant life. It is essential for the candidate to be organized, result oriented and have strong problem-solving skills. The candidate should have a strong work ethic and be available for on call duties and after-hours call-ins as required in a response to emergencies.Aurora Cannabis Inc. is a world-renowned integrated cannabis company with an industry-leading reputation for continuously elevating and setting the global cannabis industry standard.Be part of a team maintaining and operating a high-tech, automated, environmentally controlled growing facility.MAIN RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Perform routine daily inspections of all Facilities operations and be able to find issues before they become larger issues
  • Be able to work with technology at a comfortable level from BAS/CMMS systems to Microsoft applications
  • Diagnosing root causes of Facility equipment issues/breakdowns, testing parts with appropriate tools, disassembling, and assembling parts, and making necessary repairs to facility related equipment where applicable.
  • Learning and mastering climate BAS (Priva & Guardian) software to support healthy plant life and optimize systems to improve yields as is asked of them.
  • Utilizing and creating reports using BAS system data to maximize equipment efficiency.
  • Responding to automated fault detection system during or after-hours
  • Be able to change out filter media as required throughout the facility
  • Providing internal customer support services to ensure the automation systems meet their performance targets.
  • Be an efficient planner who understands the importance of each process and prioritize it according to the degree of importance at that moment
  • Be an excellent communicator who is capable of maintaining a clear flow of information across the organization and to concerned parties
  • Be an individual with high levels of physical and mental vigor
  • Be a self-motivated individual who can also encourage other staff to achieve assigned goals
  • Able to work independently throughout the facility but understands the importance of working as a Team
  • Occasional travel may be required for training or knowledge sharing.
  • Experience with CMMS software such as FIIX, DIMO or EMAINT
  • Experience working in an environment regulated by Health Canada or GMP standards will be considered an asset
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years working on large scale industrial HVACR systems.
  • Journeyman in one of the Trades
  • Comfortable with reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with large scale industrial glycol chillers and air handling units.
  • Experience with industrial boilers/chillers/humidifiers/rooftop units of all kinds
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and use time effectively
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and BAS/Guardian systems
  • Ability to establish business relationships with key contractors/suppliers, and stakeholders
  • Relentless pursuit of learning and growth in the world of industrial automation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills within a multi-disciplinary team and diverse internal and external customers/suppliers.
  • Able to follow and uphold standard operating procedures precisely and consistently; accountable for results, strives to meet and exceed expectations.
  • Able to respond to complex situations/competing interests and resolving issues positively.
  • Operational excellence and continuous improvement oriented; safety minded and able to follow strict safety protocols at all times.
