About Kumi Canada Corporation: Kumi Canada is a Tier-1 supplier to the automotive industry, with locations worldwide and class-leading design, product development, manufacturing, and automation capabilities. Located in Bradford Ontario, our operation specializes in the manufacture of interior and exterior trim assemblies for the automotive industry, using innovative injection molding and automated production systems.We are currently seeking hard working individuals with a positive attitude who will uphold our values of safety, respect, and continuous learning.Position Summary: Maintains and Troubleshoots Automation Equipment. Supports automation/efficiency improvement projects during Mass Production. Supports and troubleshoots automation and maintenance issues on all equipment. Performs related administrative functions.Essential Functions:
  • Perform basic mechanical and electrical integration for automation projects.
  • Troubleshoot and debug existing production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot robots, Automation equipment, Vision systems, etc.
  • Fabrication and machining of components
  • Perform wiring of electrical cabinets from schematic as needed
  • Perform essential administrative functions
  • Support Production, Engineering and Quality departments as deemed necessary by management.
  • Report any accidents, incidents or hazardous situations immediately.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with company policies.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems on equipment and takes steps to correct
  • Start-up and shut down equipment in line with company lockout – tag-out procedures
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Maintenance PM Completion Accuracy
  • Coordinate Maintenance Downtime Reduction Project
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Maintain 5S
  • Attend departmental and interdepartmental meetings
  • Attend training classes
  • All other functions deemed necessary by supervisor
  • Assist with installation and/or changes to the layout of machines and mechanical equipment
  • Inspect and evaluate equipment at prescribed intervals of time and usage or upon malfunction or breakdown
  • Maintain schedule of preventative maintenance measures
  • Analyze mechanical and operational problems on equipment and plans for and takes corrective action. Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality
Work Environment/Health and Safety:
  • Use or wear personal protective equipment or clothing required in order to perform the job tasks safely
  • Report to his/her Team Leader/Supervisor/Manager the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective devices of which he/she is aware, and which may endanger him/herself or another worker
  • Report to his/her Team Leader/Supervisor/Manager any contravention of the Occupational Health & Safety Act or the regulations or the existence of any hazard of which he/she knows
  • Adhere to KCC 5-S program – Clean plant environment
  • Minimal exposure to noise
  • Fast paced work environment
  • Be aware of all posted warnings and hazards of all surrounding machinery
  • Knowledge of KCC’s ISO 9001 & 14001 polices and procedures
Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years similar experience in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Post-Secondary diploma in Industrial Automation
  • Good mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Injection Molding and assembly experience is an asset. (Engel, Ube, Niigata)
  • Working knowledge of PLC programming (Allan Bradley, Keyence, Omron) Working knowledge of robot programming (Fanuc Preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Able to work independently and maintain project schedules and deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime during the week and weekends when necessary.
