Combining a deep systems knowledge to develop unique vehicle access experiences, intelligent visions systems and advanced automotive lighting technologies, MMLs expertise light the path to innovation, safety and styling.Role SummaryThis person is accountable for learning the fundamentals of tooling by applying gained experience to tooling as directed by the Supervisor. Key Responsibilities

  • Must show the potential to become a toolmaker through an aptitude with equipment and good workmanship in present job.
  • Maintain progressive or fine blank dies, jigs and fixtures at the level of quality required to support producing quality components, as required by a production stamping schedule.
  • Fabricate dies, die sections, fixtures and any other required components within a specific time frame.
  • Troubleshoot and repair dies and fixtures, in the Tool Room and Press, as required to solve problems within the time constraints dictated by the Production Schedule.
  • Report immediately all problems that may affect the on time completion of assigned work.
  • Maintain safety standards and cleanliness of work area as outlined by Supervisory staff.
  • Must be aware of relevance and importance of their activities and how it effects quality and the environment for our customers.
  • Performs other duties, as required by Management.
Key Qualifications/RequirementsCompletion of high school or equivalent.Less than 1 year of work related experience.Minimum grade 12 secondary school education or equivalent.Achieves passing grade on Dortec Industries & MTTC aptitude test.Working towards apprenticeship/certification.Valid Crane license preferred Performance Measures/Core CompetenciesEnsure all resources have their next coil staged prior to the existing one running out.Ensure downtime (waiting for material) is at acceptable rate as established by the departmentCommunicates EffectivelyMechanical AptitudeRead and understand Blue Print and GD&TAccepts CriticismMeticulousSelf Motivated07--Operations B--ApprenticeQuick Apply
