Position Summary:Reporting to the Team Lead, the Tester will be responsible for various electrical and mechanical testing of our product, according to established procedures and guidelines.Primary/Essential Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of electrical and mechanical tests, including but not limited to: hi-pot testing, kocos testing, Phenix testing, etc.
  • Visually inspect product prior to testing to detect conformance to standards
  • Inspect testing equipment and test booth/cage for proper operation
  • Prepare product for test by safely making the connections required for test being performed
  • Separate non-conforming parts
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Contribute to team effort by training others in performance of testing tasks as needed
  • Inspect all work and insure it meets requirements prior to passing it on to the next operation
  • Provide electrical/mechanical assembly as required as per business needs
  • Exercises initiative and independent judgment in adapting and applying procedures to address day-to-day activities
  • Consults with team lead when making decisions regarding complex or unusual circumstances
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Technical College/University graduate in electrical or mechanical studies is an asset
  • A minimum of one (1) year working experience in a testing position
  • Previous experience in industrial/manufacturing settings
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and bill of materials
  • Demonstrated ability of use of small hand and power tools
  • Demonstrated basic electrical knowledge
  • Basic computer skills
  • A strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask, while maintaining a strong commitment to safety is critical
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated individual with a sense of initiative
  • Ability to independently identify and develop solutions to problems that may arise in the course of work
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player while solving problems and multitasking in a deadline-driven environment
  • Take responsibility for their own safety and those around them by following safety & environmental rules and regulations
Physical Demands / Working Conditions:
  • Push / Pull up to 100 lbs - occasional
  • Squatting / Kneeling - occasional
  • Stooping / Bending - occasional
  • Standing / Walking – frequent
  • Medium to Heavy Lifting - frequent 25 lbs +
  • Variable hand / power tool use – frequent
