To ensure the health and safety of our team members, including those in the recruitment process, our team members are temporarily working from home.Reporting to the Manager of Enterprise Network Customer Solutions, the Network Planner Lead will be responsible for supporting the intake of EON/GPON/CWDM/DWDM based services. This individual will take a lead role on Process definition and creation, ensure network guidelines are followed and kept up to date, work on network expansion, product development, and RFP support. Success in this position will require keeping up to date on market trends in non-standard service delivery and new transport and Metro Ethernet topologies. This position will interface with numerous cross function teams including EBU Marketing and Sales, Transport Planning, IP Planning, Technology, etc.What you will be doing:Assume a lead role in understanding existing and new access topologies as they relate to customer solutions.Assume a lead role related to Intercompany activity as it relates to Network, working closely with team primes to ensure a successful delivery and tracking method for internal department service requirements.Own, Manage and outline compelling opportunities to obtain buy in from other organizational stakeholdersIdentifying cost savings initiatives and ensure the flow of information to relevant parties.Collect customer requirements and design customer solutions leveraging Roger’s footprint.Identify and devise new and novel approaches and methodologies relative to established guidelines to effectively manage technical, product, or business risks.This individual will take a lead role on topology of new POP, Access layer technology development, and RFP support.Interface with internal Planning teams to develop cost effective network solutions for customers while efficiently managing Rogers’ network resources. The overall goal is to reduce SOI’s and provide service to customer as quickly as possible while ensuring proper support and lowest cost to the company.Work with Core Network, Cost and Deal management teams to determine most technically feasible and cost effective options for customer implementation.Support the finance organization in interpreting cost information and financial metrics to ensure costing methodologies are applied consistently.Responsible for providing weekly/monthly and annual reports to management.Track, maintain, & evolve departmental KPI’sOther ad-hoc projects as required.What you have:University degree or technical diploma in engineering or 10+ yrs of telecommunications experience7 years of work experience in an MSO environment.In-depth knowledge of fibre and copper infrastructure and technology as it relates to ISP and OSP applications.In-depth knowledge and understanding of DWDM and CWDM topologies, Transport Network design, HFC, Ethernet, Private Line, SONET and other optical network services.Knowledge of the design and implementation of telecom carrier network services such as Local/LD Voice, Private Lines, GigE, PON, ATM, Wave, Frame, Internet and MPLSFully competent with Microsoft Office products such as Visio Teams, Sharepoint, Word, Excel, PPT, & VisioExcellent skills in translating technical designs into high level network diagramsExcellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities.Strong business writing and communication skills requiredComfortable working and presenting to others, while encompassing inclusivity and cultivating a safe communal work environment.Self-starter and quick learner who is able to work well under pressure and tight timelines with minimum supervisionA strategic thinker who is able to think out-of-the-box and see the big pictureComfortable with ambiguityProject management experience would be an asset.Schedule: Full timeShift: DayLength of Contract: Not Applicable (Regular Position)Work Location: 8200 Dixie Road (101), Brampton, ONTravel Requirements: Up to 10%Posting Category/Function: Technology & EngineeringRequisition ID: 231846Together, we'll make more possible, and these six shared values guide and define our work:Our people are at the heart of our successOur customers come first.
