Job Description

Job DescriptionOsler is driven by a strategic Vision to go beyond for our people and communities. As part of this commitment, we are embarking on an exciting digital transformation to implement a new, modernized hospital information system (HIS). Our dedicated HIS team will collaborate closely with our trusted HIS vendor (Epic) and internal subject matter experts to develop a fully functional system that will empower us to deliver exceptional care and services.The Epic Access Administrative Analyst is responsible for maintaining and provisioning access related to the HIS in accordance with Osler’s access administration policies and processes. This role is part of the HIS project structure, with a key responsibility to design, deliver and sustain our systems to address both clinical and non-clinical needs, ensuring the HIS is utilized effectively and efficiently in patient care.Accountabilities:

  • Partner with the Applications team to create and implement all security profiles within Epic including employees, contractors, students, external providers and volunteers
  • Work closely with the Training team to provision access to all users once formal training and proficiency exams are successfully completed
  • Work closely with Privacy, Professional Practice and other subject matter experts to develop standards for ensuring that Epic access is configured appropriately
  • Maintain dictionary of all providers working with Epic
  • Analyze, review and test new functionality impacts to security profiles in HIS software releases
  • Create and maintain documentation to build a repository of key functionality within security and access profiles
  • Work closely with the Epic HIS vendor, project team and operational subject matter experts to help create the future state workflows by participating and leading site visits, working group meetings, validation sessions and other related meetings
  • Facilitate and participate meetings to discuss deliverables, issues, end user concerns and upcoming milestones
  • Work closely with HIS team members to identify, document and troubleshoot issues to find creative resolutions to ensure that all Osler staff have the appropriate access to optimally perform job functions within Epic
  • Partner with Epic HIS vendor representatives to maintain communication and help vendor staff understand hospital’s operational needs
  • Achieve Epic certification and/or accreditation
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support
  • Work extended hours (days, evenings, nights, weekends) as required
