Job Description

Take a look at what employees are working on related to our Term of Council Priorities moving us forward towards The Brampton 2040 Vision.FITNESS FLOOR STAFFPRIMARY FUNCTION:While supervising the fitness floor, the Fitness Floor Staff deliver high quality fitness experiences and promote membership opportunities that are stimulating and enjoyable for all participants. Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of all participants at all times.Reports to: Recreation Programmer/Recreation CoordinatorPosition Duties:Supervise the fitness floor, engaging with participants to promote a positive experience and ensuring everyone’s safety.Conduct tours of the fitness centre and promote memberships and servicesProvide a high level of front line customer service including greeting and engaging participantsPerform consultations/orientations according to City of Brampton protocolMaintain complete vigilance while on duty and be responsive to any emergency situationDeliver fitness programs following required standardsComplete administrative duties in a timely manner (eg. attendance, incident/accident reports, opening and closing procedures)Maintain a safe and tidy program space ensuring equipment is set-up and stored appropriatelyReport all concerns, accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor and take appropriate actionParticipate in on and off site promotional and community eventsMaintain an understanding of department programs and servicesUnderstand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staffAttend meetings/training as requiredPerforms other duties as assignedSELECTION CRITERIA:Minimum 18 years of ageCertified Personal Trainer or Fitness Instructors Certification from an accredited organization, or the ability to obtain within 1 month of date of hireDegree/Diploma in Physical Education/Kinesiology/Recreation considered an assetCurrent Standard First Aid / CPR C from an accredited organization, or the ability to obtain within 1 month of date of hireExceptional customer service and communication skills**Various tests and/or exams may be administered as part of the selection criteria.Job status: Part-timeHourly rate: Step 1:$17.80Step 2: $18.55Applications must be received by December 31, 2021Alternate formats will be provided upon request.If this opportunity matches your interest and experience, please apply online by clicking the button above, by December 31, 2021.
