You will carry out assigned tasks under the direction of the physiotherapists and occupational therapists and provide a variety of patient support services. These may include administrative tasks, stocking supplies, equipment inventory and cleaning/maintenance, and other tasks as assigned. You will work with the patients/families and team to actively help rehabilitate each patient to achieve his/her maximum functional level through planned therapeutic programs. OTA/PTAs are expected to participate in patient care team meetings, discipline-specific meetings, special projects as assigned, and supervision of students.QUALIFICATIONS:Two Year Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist Assistant Certification from a recognized Canadian Community College (required to have dual training as an OTA & PTA)Preference will be given to candidates with 2-years recent clinical experience in adult physical medicine, including MSK type of injuries and RehabilitationAbility to speak, read & write the English languageExcellent communication and interpersonal skills requiredAbility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with excellent time management and organizational skills requiredDemonstrated ability to prioritize responsibilities and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervisionGood critical thinking and problem-solving skills requiredPhysical ability to do job duties as assigned; demonstrated knowledge of body mechanics to prevent musculoskeletal injuriesDemonstrated commitment to continuing educationProven attendance and work recordMay be required to travel between and work at all hospital sitesSALARY:Minimum: $28.60Maximum: $30.95Osler values inclusivity and diversity in the workplace.
