Job Description

KP Building Products has an immediate employment opportunity in the Brampton area for Packers. The person ensures production flow by packing all plastic extruded products that have come off the extrusion line.Schedule: 12 hours | continental shifts (rotating) | days and nights | 8am-8pm AND 8pm-8amSalary: $17.00 (plus Premium Nights/Weekends $0.90)Qualifications:

  • Completed high school diploma, or equivalent (asset)
  • Experience as a packer is a plus, particularly in plastic manufacturing
  • Ability to follow instructions from supervisor
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to read and understand English
  • High level of integrity and work ethic

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all product packaged has proper barcode, label, quantity and nesting pattern
  • Immediate notification of quality problems to supervisor
  • Check quality of product on-line; record information on Quality Record sheets
  • Responsible for stamping information on all products packaged
  • Responsible for use of proper packing material
  • Move all full crates or racks to special fitting areas
  • Responsible for housekeeping in work area
  • Assist other operators on the line, as needed
  • Cut scrap material and place in scrap bin (by colour)
  • Dispose of contaminated scrap as needed
  • Participate in training as required by the company
  • Adhere to all applicable company policies and procedures, including quality and health and safety
  • Perform other duties as assigned
