PAMA is an integrated institution specializing in contemporary and regional arts, heritage, and culture, with a mandate of creative exploration and a goal to help build cohesive community.Reporting to the Supervisor of Development and Marketing, the Visitor Service Guide position is part of PAMAs engagement with visitors.In this role you will:

  • Provide guided tours of exhibitions and the architecture of the site.
  • Create welcoming opportunities for visitors to engage and explore.
  • Assist in hosting duties at special events and openings
  • Chaperone rental events ensuring clients and the facility are safe and troubleshooting any issues.
  • Ensuring the clients adhere to their contract (start/end time, capacities etc.) and leave the rooms in the same condition as when they arrived.
  • Types of events include wedding photo shoots, wedding ceremonies, life celebration events such as showers, birthday, and memorials
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a post-secondary program in art, museum studies, history, visual and/or media arts related discipline, special events.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Strong verbal communication skills to interact with the diverse population within Peel.
  • Demonstration of solid knowledge of and or a keen interest in contemporary visual art and community engagement.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of art techniques, practices, materials, and Canadian History.
  • An ability to work under tight deadlines and manage changing priorities.
  • Self-directed and able to work within a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong organizational, planning, time management and leadership skills.
  • Able to work Saturdays, Sundays, and Thursday evenings.
  • Knowledge or Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Outlook.
Location: 9 Wellington Street East, Brampton (PAMA)Hours of Work: Casual position where you will be required to work a minimum of 2 shifts per week. Shifts may be scheduled during the following times: Thursday 5:30pm – 9:00pm, Saturday 10:00am – 5:00pm, Sunday 1:00pm – 5:00pm, other hours may be available for rentals.Interview: Our recruitment process will be completed with video conference technology.If this opportunity matches your qualifications and experience, please apply on-line.As part of the Region’s ongoing commitment to health and safety, there are enhanced Covid-19 specific safety protocols and/or personal protective equipment requirements (e.g. masks, eye protection, etc.) in place to help protect health and safety.
