The organization’s focus will be to incubate, grow, celebrate, advocate for and connect the sector through an innovative and forward-thinking range of programs, services and resources beginning this year.The Arts, Culture and Creative Industry Development Agency (“The Agency/ ACCIDA”) is looking to bring on a competent and outgoing Programming Coordinator to lead our year-round calendar of programs, events and partnerships with creativity, drive and attention to detail in response to the direction and vision of the ACCIDA Advisory Panel.The Programming Coordinator provides project management expertise for the ideation, development and implementation of all programming initiatives and efforts of The Agency. This role serves as the main point of contact for programming for the organization and is responsible for providing project management oversight, including efficient and effective use of project resources and adherence to corporate policies and processes, to meet project goals and objectives. This position encompasses significant event planning, budget planning, and multi-stakeholder engagement, and requires excellent communication and presentation skills.As a key representative of the Agency, a strong background in program development is required to support the ongoing development of the organization and establish a progressive, accessible, positive and authentic calendar of offerings. Reporting to the Senior Program Lead, the chosen candidate will have experience in program execution and delivery and will lead multiple streams of arts-focused programs, exhibitions and events as well as various ongoing operational, administrative tasks. The Programming Coordinator will also attend weekly staff meetings and work in collaboration with team members to collaborate towards larger organizational goals and initiatives. Provides direction to part-time administrative staff and volunteer team as needed.PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT AND EXECUTION

  • Working closely with the Senior Program Lead to develop a year round calendar of events, programs and workshops in support of Brampton’s Arts and Culture Sector- creating new offerings while continuing successful public program offerings.
  • Manage, facilitate and lead all programming projects and initiatives to advance the vision, priorities and goals of the Arts, Culture and Creative Industry Development Agency, including budget oversight.
  • Plan, organize, monitor, and evaluate project activities that include the coordination and implementation of programs and projects that support Agency efforts.
  • Lead and participate on cross-divisional project teams within the City and with other stakeholders as required to implement projects and initiatives.
  • Oversee the execution of an approved calendar of programs and events of various sizes and complexity.
  • Be the onsite or online host for all Arts, Culture and Creative Industry Development Agency programs.
  • Manage community-led projects which involve facilitating meaningful multi-stakeholder dialogue and liaising with internal departments, external agencies, organizations, cultural and business communities and the public, and may require contracting and managing outside consultants.
  • Provide overall leadership and direction to programming by assigning tasks to other staff (part-time, contract, volunteers) and manage the performance of these teams to ensure the successful implementation of initiatives.
  • Identify factors which may impact project success and provide mitigation strategies to address these factors.
  • Provide support to the Senior Program Lead on organization-wide initiatives.
PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT & STAKEHOLDER RELATIONS
  • Develop strong working relationships and partnerships at the local, national and international level, and with and internal stakeholders, ensuring a thorough understanding of and positive support for projects and initiatives while pursuing new opportunities for collaboration.
  • Strengthening organizational relationships with artists, cultural organizations and other cultural departments both across Brampton but also beyond including direct outreach and representing the organization at conferences, events or external meetings
  • Organize and direct effective teams of other staff and volunteers for the successful delivery of projects and initiatives.
  • Escalate complex issues to the appropriate level for resolution.
COMMUNICATION AND REPORTING
  • Provide the necessary material for communication plans to ensure timely communication with Mayor and Council, internal and external stakeholders and proper promotion of programs.
  • Draft programming related communications and key messages, as required.
  • Create and maintain detailed project documentation and ensure all necessary sign-offs and approvals meet corporate policies and confidentiality requirements.
  • Achieve departmental operational objectives by contributing expertise, information and recommendations to strategic plans and progress reviews, including preparing and completing action plans.
  • Prepare presentations and reports that include measurement of progress against set project goals and objectives as needed.
ADMINISTRATION
  • Lead and facilitate research and engagement strategies using internal and external project teams to support program planning and implementation objectives.
  • Maintain knowledge of collective agreements, City policies and practices, legislation, regulations to assist in the revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure the needs of stakeholders are continually met.
BUDGET SUPPORT
  • Use effective resource and expense management at all times to meet corporate policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Lead and facilitate the necessary contracts and agreements with partners (artist fees, arts organization fees) and processing the accompany payments, invoices and financial reconciliation.
  • Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements, assists in preparing annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, analysing variances and initiating corrective actions.
TEAMWORK AND COOPERATION
  • Manage, lead and facilitate project coordination and team meetings as required to meet project needs- with both internal and external groups.
  • Work well within diverse groups in support of project and operational goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrate corporate values at all times.
STAFF LEADERSHIP
  • Ensures proper scheduling and assignment of part-time staff and volunteer duties.
  • Provides general oversight and guidance to staff in the delivery of projects and programs.
  • Responsible for staff training and orientation.
  • Recruits, oversees and provides staff performance evaluations.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
  • Post-secondary degree in Cultural Management and Administration, Event Planning, Public Policy, Visual or Performing Artsor equivalent in related field. Project management certification is considered an asset.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in program development, arts administration or related filed.
  • Public/Community Programming, Event Planning and Project Management experience, with proven ability to take programming ideas from ideation to execution and evaluation.
  • Expertise in working with the arts, culture and tourism sectors and communities.
  • Knowledge of Municipal, Regional, Provincial and Federal Governments and applicable Legislations is an asset.
  • Very comfortable with public speaking, exceptional communication and analytical skills.
  • Involvement in the local arts and culture sector as an artist, arts worker, or cultural programmer.
  • Solid stakeholder relations, customer service and people management skills; ability to interface with internal and external customers to meet Agency standards
  • Exceptional organizational skills; detail oriented, well organized, able to coordinate multiple activities and tasks meeting conflicting priorities and timelines
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft office/software, MS Teams, Zoom and other online programming platforms.
  • Must be flexible to work evening and weekend hours if required (ie. When events and programs are being held).
