Job Description

Job DescriptionWilliam Osler Health System is driven by a strategic vision to go beyond for our people and communities. As part of this commitment, we are embarking on an exciting digital transformation to implement a new, modernized Hospital Information System (HIS). Our dedicated HIS Team will collaborate closely with our trusted HIS Vendor (Epic) and internal subject matter experts to develop a fully functional system that will empower us to deliver exceptional care and services.The Project Manager, Hospital Information System (HIS), is responsible for leading implementation activities that contribute to the overall success of the HIS. The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project lifecycle, from initial planning and requirements gathering to deployment and go-live readiness. This role is part of the HIS project structure, with a key responsibility ensure that project milestones are met on time, within budget and according to quality standards.Accountabilities:

  • Overseeing full lifecycle of projects from initial planning and requirements gathering to deployment and go-live readiness
  • Create project plans to establish project scope, deliverables, budgets, accountabilities, schedules, timelines, resources, monitoring and post project audit/evaluation
  • Participate in various project activities related to Epic implementation including developing project documentation, procurement, budget management
  • Create and maintain documentation to build a repository of key project decisions and other artifacts
  • Facilitate meetings to discuss deliverables, issues, end user concerns and upcoming milestones
  • Work closely with HIS team members to document and mitigate any escalations/issues as related to the Epic implementation
  • Partner with the Epic HIS vendor representatives to maintain communication and help vendor staff understand hospital’s operational needs
  • Work extended hours (days, evenings, nights, weekends) as required
